Buckeye Central’s stifling defense held their opponent to single digits in each quarter of the Division IV District Semi-Final knocking Norwalk St. Paul out of the playoffs 46-21 at Willard High School Tuesday night.

The Flyers kept it close trailing the Bucks 10-7 at the close of the first period. B.C. outscored the Flyers 14-6 in the second quarter giving Buckeye Central 24-13 halftime lead. The Bucks D stepped up the pressure during the second half allowing 4 points in both the third and fourth quarters.

The Bucks were led by Junior Austin Wurm who put up 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Senior Sam Robertson added 12 points.

Norwalk St. Paul was led by Bob Harwood’s 8 points. The Flyer’s end their season with a 10-14 record.

Buckeye Central, who improved to 22-2, will play Sandusky St. Mary in the District Finals at Willard High School at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 7.
