Yesterday the Associated Press confirmed what Crawford County basketball fans and those around the Northern 10 Athletic Conference having been saying for months: Buckeye Central junior Jenna Karl is one of the best players in the state of Ohio.

Karl was named first team All-Ohio in Division IV for girls basketball. The list of Division IV All-Ohioans was released Monday. Also on Monday, Karl was honored at a banquet for All-Crawford County picks for winter sports.

Karl has already crossed the 1,000-point plateau in her career. She was a big reason the Buckettes went 21-5 this season, finished second in the N10 and were district champs. Karl led her team in scoring with a 15.9 points per game average which was fifth in the N10 and led all Crawford County players.

Karl led the Buckettes in rebounding with 8.3 per game, assists with 8 per game which was second in the N10, a league-leading 4.7 steals per game, and was a 35-percent 3-point shooter. Karl was also a first team pick All-N10 and All-District 6.
