It will be an all Crawford County final Saturday night at the Division IV girls sectional basketball tournament at Ontario High School. Both Buckeye Central and Colonel Crawford won their semi-finals games last night to set up the third meeting between the two schools this season.
in the first game of the night, Buckeye Central held off Plymouth for a 53-47 victory. The Big Red jumped out to an early lead before Buckeye Central tied the game at the half. The Buckettes defense held Plymouth to 7 points in the third period to lead by 8 on the way to their 10th win of the season.
Brooke Karl led Buckeye Central with 18 points including 4 of her teams 6 threes. Morgan Fletcher led Plymouth with 15 points and Leah Eldridge added 10.
In the second game, Colonel Crawford jumped out to a 12-point lead only to have St. Peter’s outscore the Lady Eagles 21-7 in the second period to lead by 4 at halftime. Colonel Crawford still trailed by 3 after three periods but outscored the Spartans 16-5 over the final 8 minutes to win their 6th game of the season.
Cassie Sager led three Lady Eagles in double figures with 12 points, Katie Siegel had 11 and Jada Klingenberger 10 points. For St Peter’s Tiza Jones had 24 points.
Game time Saturday night for Buckeye Central and Colonel Crawford’s sectional championship game is 8 o’clock at Ontario High School.
