Heading into the final Friday for Boys Basketball in the North Central Conference, with the conference championship already decided, pride was on the line for Crawford County’s six teams.
With 4 ties and 7 lead changes, the 2013-2014 NCC champion Buckeye Central Bucks had a difficult task fending off the Bucyrus Redmen Friday night on Bucyrus’ home court; however the Bucks were fit for the task winning 49-39.
Austin Wurm led all scorers with 17 points.
With the win, B.C. finishes the regular season with a 20-2 record and a 13-1 record in the NCC.
Bucyrus was led by Brian Snouffer who scored 15 points; Austin Williams added 13 points to the effort.
Bucyrus finishes the season with a 12-10 overall record, and a 6-8 conference record.
It was standing room only as the Colonel Crawford Eagles and the Crestline Bulldog’s played their final games of the regular season in front of a packed house. Colonel Crawford bounced away with the victory defeating Crestline 66-35.
Nate Klingenberger soared for the Eagles scoring 22 points on the night, while Conner McCreary contributed 12 points in the Eagles winning efforts.
With the win the Eagles finish 17-5 with an 11-3 record in the NCC.
Nate Coffman shone for the Bulldogs scoring 18 of the team’s 35 points.
With the loss the Bulldogs drop to 3-19 on the season and 1-13 in the NCC.
Wynford traveled to Riverdale and brought home a victory beating the Falcons 63-59.
Jake Glowaski, and Mason Davis both led the Royals with 18 points apiece.
With the victory the Royals finish 6-15 with a 4-10 conference record.
The Falcons’ Lee Holderman led all scorers in the game with 31 points. Chad Pever added 10 points ti the Falcons’ effort.
The Galion Tigers travelled to Upper Sandusky, but came up short losing to the Rams 63-56.
The Tigers had three scorers in double digits Houston Blair and Lucas Bohach led the team with 15 points, and Tony Kirk added 10 points.
With the loss Galion drops to 12-10 on the season with a 9-5 NCC record.
Upper Sandusky also had three players reach double digits in points with Westin Vent leading all scorers with 22 points, Cody Collins added 16, and Seth Frey contributed 14 points.
