The Sunday session kicked off at 1P.M. with 4 matches in the winner’s bracket and 4 matches in the loser’s bracket.
In the winners bracket Rick McWaters bowled games of 213-233-222 and 214 for an 882 to defeat Todd Spurlock who had games of 258-213-194 and 213 for an 852. Rookie Mike Flinchbaugh shot games of 233-256-208 and 205 for a 902 series in a losing effort against Skip Heimlich’s 277-210-246 and 226 for a 959 series.
Butch Pangallo outscored Mike Hill with games of 245-256-289-224 for a fine 1014 series. Mike had games of 243-191-227-200 for an 861 series.
Defending champion Jack Book rolled games of 222-237-217 and 253 for a
929 series knocking Keith Hildreth into the losers bracket despite shooting
games of 206-211-248 and 230 for an 895 total.
In the loser bracket matches, Joel Butt eliminated Don McLaughlin with games of 245-184-237 and 244 for a total of 910 against Dons’ 222-234-207 and 208 for an 865. Brian Patrick shot games of 256-267-205-236 for a 976 total eliminating Phil Bays who shot games of 149-212-223 and 178 for a 762 total.
Mitch Long with games of 162-205-236-and 200 for an 803 held off Dan Striker with games of 184-192-191 and 227 for a total of 794. In the final match Shawn Ridgeway started with a spare and tossed the final 11 strikes for a 290, then proceeded to start the next game with the first 11 for 22 in-a-row before leaving a 6-10 on the final ball for a fine 298. He followed that up with games of 220-230, for a 3 game 808 total and a four game total 1038 to eliminate Chris Kuehne Sr. with games of 189-206-180 and 184 for a 759 total.
In the second shift losers bracket matches 4 more bowlers were eliminated.
Shawn Ridgeway eliminated Mike Hill with games of 253-226-259 and 218 for a 956 total while Mike shot games of 211-217-248 and 229 for a 905 total. Keith Hildreth threw a 980 total with games of 257-269-237- and 217, ousting Mitch Long with games of 215-223-277 and 223 for a 938 total, Joel Butt knocked off Todd Spurlock with games of 203-232-173 and 242 for a total of 870. Todd shot games of 151-167-212 and 213 for 743.
In the final match rookie Mike Flinchbaugh shot a perfect 300 his last game to go along with 214-198-and 236 for a 948 total to send Brian Patrick packing with games of 192-176-225 and 209 for a total of 822.
All 8 remaining bowlers will return to action this coming Saturday at 1 P.M. followed by 2 loser bracket matches at approximately 3 P.M. with the same format to follow on Sunday. The finals will be held at 1P.M. on Feb. 25th.
