Keith Hildreth waited a long time and had to battle through an extra game and a sour stomach, but on Saturday he emerged as the 2015 Bill Rahm champion.
Hildreth faced two-time Rahm champion Don McLaughlin in Saturday’s finals. McLaughlin fought his way through the loser’s bracket to reach the finals and defeated Hildreth in the four-game set 964-874, to force a fifth-game roll off.
With the title on the line, Hildreth scrambled back to win the roll off over McLaughlin, 245-227.
It was the first Bill Rahm title for Hildreth, but not his first appearance in the finals. He made to the final pair in 2004 but came up short.
The Bucyrus Ladies Invitational gets underway this Saturday at Suburban Lanes. Live broadcast coverage on WBCO 1540 begins at 12:40 p.m.
