Buckeye Central never trailed Wednesday night as 9 different players scored in the Bucks’ victory over the Lakeside Danbury Lakers in the Division IV sectional tournament game played at Norwalk High School.

Led by Junior Grant Loy’s double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds and Senior Austin Wurm’s 15 points, the Bucks defeated the Lakers 61 to 29.

Starting the second period with a 16 to 10 lead, B.C.’s defense clamped down on the Lakers, while outscoring them 34 to 6 in the second and third quarters. Buckeye Central’s defense collected 14 steals while forcing Danbury to turn over the basketball 21 times in the game.

With the win Buckeye Central advances to the Division IV Norwalk Sectional championship game Friday night against South Central, who defeated Lucas 75-43 earlier Wednesday night.
