NEW WASHINGTON (Crawford County Now) — Seneca East boys took top honors in the Stache Dash at Buckeye Central High School’s track facility Thursday.

The Tigers edged Northern 10 Athletic Conference rival Carey, 111-104.

Top boys placers include:

  • Mohawk’s 4X800 meter relay was first in 8:28.69, a meet record.
  • The Warriors’ Jett Loesser ran a 2:06.31, good for first in the 800 meters.
  • Teammate Brayden Cleveland was first in the 3200 meters, clocking 10:03.24.
  • Mohawk’s Braxton Jenkins won the 300-meter hurdles in 43.33.
  • Ethan Shultz of Seneca East was tops in the long jump at 19-feet, 9.5-inches.
  • Tigers’ Justin Reiter took honors in the shot put with a meet record throw of 51-feet, 4.75-inches.

Mohawk was third and Buckeye Central 10th in boys.

Top girls placers include:

  • Mohawk won the 4X800 meter relay in 10:50.34.

Seneca East finished sixth, Buckeye Central seventh and Mohawk ninth in the girls division.

Port Clinton won the girls division with Tiffin Calvert second.

Eagles, Tigers compete in Ontario

ONTARIO — Colonel Crawford boys took second place and the girls third in the Ontario Relays on Thursday evening.

The host Warriors claimed first in both divisions. Galion boys finished fifth and the girls sixth.

Top girls placers include:

  • Lady Eagles Mira Holt first in the 400 meters in 26.55 and the long jump at 16-feet, 10-inches.
  • Galion’s Makayla Halbisen took home honors in the 3200 meters in 12:04.92.
  • The Lady Tigers A squad won the distance medley, with Makenzie Halbisen, Madisyn Barros, Alayna Griffith, and Makayla Halbisen. Their time was 14:17.48.
  • Colonel Crawford standout Gabby Roston won the pole vault with an 11-foot, 1-inch effort.

Top boys placers include:

  • Galion’s Zach Sallee raced to first in the 100 meters in 11.33 and the 200 meters in 23.22.
  • The Tigers quartet of Trevor Shifley, Sallee, Sam Evans, and Camden Kuehlman took first place in the 4X100 in 44.49.
  • Crawford’s Braeden Grau, John DeGray, Isaac Stirm, and Shawn Auck captured first in the boys distance medley.
  • Camron Smith won the high jump with a 5-foot, 9-inch leap.
  • Galion’s Parker Tinch took first place in the long jump in 19-feet, 9.5-inches.
