BUCYRUS — Buckeye Central handed Wynford its first Northern 10 Athletic Conference loss of the season Thursday at Bucyrus Golf Club.
Three players between the two teams shared medalist honors. The Buckettes’ Leah Vanderpool and Lexi Biglin and the Royals’ Abby Underwood each shot 48.
Caity Schiefer of Wynford (8-1) and Ali Stahl of Buckeye Central (7-1) both carded 50s.
The Buckettes pulled to within two points of first place with the win. Each league win is awarded two points. The Royals currently lead Buckeye Central, 16-14.
Liberty-Benton 8, Upper Sandusky 0
UPPER SANDUSKY — Liberty-Benton scored five goals in the first half en route to blanking Upper Sandusky, 8-0, in a girls’ North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Thursday.
Savanah Richards scored three goals for the Eagles, including two of the three in the second half.
Goalkeeper Cortni Brown had nine saves for Upper Sandusky (2-5, 0-2 NCOSA). Liberty-Benton, ranked No.4 in the state soccer poll, moves to 5-0, 2-0 NCOSA on the season.
Colonel Crawford 3, Bucyrus 0
NORTH ROBINSON — Colonel Crawford (7-1, 5-1 N10) volleyball maintained second place in the N10 with a 3-0 victory over Bucyrus.
Jordy Whitmore paced Bucyrus (2-8, 0-5) with 14 digs, eight kills and three aces. Jill Wise added six kills and six digs.
Sydney McAdams finished with nine digs and eight assists, while Jade Torres had 13 digs.
Colonel Crawford returns to the court on Monday at Northmor. The Lady Redmen go to Upper Sandusky on Tuesday.
