Wynford defense shuts down Upper Sandusky
HOLMES TOWNSHIP — Wynford stayed perfect in the Northern 10 Conference with a methodic 34-0 shutout of Upper Sandusky.
The Royals scored in all four quarters to pull away from the Rams. Quarterback Joel Griffin ran four yards for a score in the first period. Zach Houck had a 1-yard run and Griffin connected with Robbie Miller on a 20-yard scoring pass to give Wynford (7-2, 6-0 N10) a 20-0 halftime lead.
Nate Imbody scored on a 30-yard interception return and Griffin added a 1-yard run to set the final score.
Nate McMillan led Upper Sandusky (3-6, 2-4) with 50 yards rushing on 13 carries. The Rams had just 94 yards of net offense.
Griffin was an efficient eight of 12 passing for 117 yards with an interception and one touchdown. Griffin also ran for 65 yards and a pair of scores.
Colonel Crawford crushes Buckeye Central
NORTH ROBINSON — Trevor Shawber rushed for 199 yards and four touchdowns as Colonel Crawford crushed Buckeye Central, 61-0, in an N10 game.
Six different Eagles carried the ball to account for their 269 yards on the ground, good for six touchdowns. Hayden Bute passed for 90 yards, completing six of seven throws. Zye Shipman was tow for three for 43 yards and a touchdown.
Dylan Knisely and Bute each ran for scores. Owin Seevers caught a 37-yard touchdown pass from Shipman and Seevers also returned an interception 82 yards for a score. Tristian Cross scored on a 54-yard return of a fumble to account for the other points for Colonel Crawford (4-5, 2-4).
Jacob Maxhimer had 24 yards rushing on five carries to lead Buckeye Central (0-9, 0-7). The Bucks totaled just 61 yards of total offense.
BUCYRUS — Seneca East built a 34-0 halftime lead, then coasted to a 46-7 win over Bucyrus.
Brock Martin had a monster night for the Tigers, rushing for 229 yards on just eight carries — a gaudy 28.6 yards per carry. Martin crossed the goal line four times, on runs of 66, 11, 36 and 51 yards. He also scored on a 48-yard punt return.
Jared Gurney ran for 119 yards on nine carries, including an 11-yard scoring jaunt. D.J. Ruffing accounted for the other points for Seneca East (7-1, 5-1) with a 17-yard run.
Devon Newland helped Bucyrus (1-8, 1-6) avert the shutout when he punched it in from the one with just over three minutes left in the game. Newland led the Redmen with 50 yards rushing on 19 carries and caught three passes for 56 yards. Gram Dick caught five balls for 49 yards.
Ben Seibert completed 11 of 25 passes for 143 and an interception for Bucyrus.
