William E. Smith, 76 of Bucyrus passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Mansfield Ohio Health. William was born July 21, 1944, in Columbus to the late Clyde and Claudia (Baker) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Daniel, brother David, and sister Pat.
William is survived by son William (Chris Young) Smith of Bucyrus; granddaughters Emily and Sarah; great-grandsons Levi and Douglass as well as several nieces.
William lived his entire life in Bucyrus and retired from Bucyrus Blades in 2014 after 45 years. He was a Navy Veteran and member of American Legion Post 181, AMVETS Post 27, VFW Post 1078, and Bucyrus Moose Lodge #669. He enjoyed fishing and made many trips to Canada since 1989.
The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 in the Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Corwin officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Gifts for Yanks and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
