William D. Pace Jr., 65, of Wenden, Az. died of Covid unexpectedly on January 28, 2022. Bill was born in Defiance, Ohio on October 11, 1956 to the late William Sr. and Jane (Cordray) Pace.

Bill graduated from BHS in 1974 and worked for the post office locally for many years before transferring to Az. to finish his career. He was a post master in both Az. and Utah, while also training others to become post master. He met his loving wife of 23 years, Deborah Jones-Pace while working at the same post office. After retiring, he pursued another

career where he supervised the book printing at the Tucson Passport Center from which he had just recently and officially retired.

Bill was loved by all who knew and met him. Kind, gentle and generous are
but a few words to describe him. He enjoyed the simple things in life; family, friends, and the Az. lifestyle. He loved chess, watching the stock market and working on his cars. He also loved The Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball teams. Bill started a chess club for the middle school while in Bucyrus and helped with an elementary school program in Az. He also played in many open tournaments throughout the U.S. where he was fairly successful.

He also relished beating the few juniors and seniors on his dad’s basketball teams that played chess, while he was in 7th and 8th grade.
Bill settled in really well in Az. but missed his many friends and family
and BHS classmates. He will be so dearly missed by his loved ones.

Bill is survived by his wife Debbie; his three daughters Nicole Jones, Katie Jones, and Chantal Pace; his two beloved grandchildren Brycen and Allie; his brother Robert; his sister Mary (Bruce) Lepley; and his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

There is no service scheduled at this time but there will be a Celebration of Life ceremony that will be held locally at a time yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers there is a Go Fund Me set up to help with unforeseen expenses. https://gofund.me/db3e5b50 Thank you in advance for any donations.
