Willard E. Brewster, 78, of Mansfield died Friday, September 15, 2017 at Crystal Care Center Of Ashland after a long battle with cancer.
Willard was born in Lawton, KY on May 1, 1939 to the late Robert and Ann (Conn) Brewster. He married Ethel L. McDowell on June 23, 1960 and she preceded him in death on September 16, 2007. His second wife, Joanne (Sharrock) Brewster preceded him in death in October 2016.
Willard worked as a cement mason for over 40 years at the Mansfield Flooring Company and then the McKenzie Concrete in Shelby. He loved the Lord and spending time with his family. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music. He also tended to his vegetable and flower gardens and trees. An avid basketball fan, Willard cheered on his Kentucky Wildcats. He also enjoyed watching The Ohio State University and the Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Chambers and Donnie Travis of Mansfield; his three grandchildren, Jessica Courtney, Lana and Dan Thomas, and Brett Surgener; his two great-grandchildren, Emma and Cayden; and his significant other, Cheryl Landon.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Robinette on November 30, 2008; and his 12 brothers and sisters, John, James, Norton, Melvin, and Wilford Brewster, Fern Fultz, Lu Ella Gee, Geneva Cox, Charlene Horton, Mae Haywood, Clara Hamm, and Virginia Tackett.
Friends may call Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 W. Main St., Crestline. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Crestline, with Pastor Sharon Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.
