Wilbur E. Coykendall, 85, of Galion passed away March 2, 2018 at Mill Creek Nursing Center in Galion.

Born December 25, 1932 in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, he was the son of Elsworth and Marie (Frost) Coykendall.  He married Ruby L (Summerlot) Coykendall on July 8, 1952 and she preceded him on November 27, 2007.

Wilbur was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Galion, Galion Historical Society and the Galion Golden Age Club and retired from the former Peabody Galion where he was a man of all trades. He lived for his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by a son, Dennis Coykendall of Galion; three daughters, Rebecca Wells of Galion, Sharon (Mike) Brady of Galion and Pam (Keith) Lipscomb of Ontario; seven grandchildren, Wendy (Pete) Smith, Mike (Danielle) Brady, Mandy (Rich) Mauk, Bobby Wells, Jason (Crystal) Brady, Kevin Lipscomb and David Salyers; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and one sister, Luella Quinton of Mt. Gilead.

In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Salyers, an infant great-grandson, three brothers, Howard, Earl and Alvie Coykendall and three sisters, Betty Osborne, Alta Hoffman and Irene Thomas.

A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery with Dan Everly officiating.
