Wayne E. Johnson, 80, of Bucyrus passed away on Sunday December 5, 2021 at Altercare of Bucyrus surrounded by his family. Wayne was born July 27, 1941 in Mansfield, OH to the late Willard and Gladys (Hollinger) Johnson. Wayne retired from Transco after spending several years there and, upon his retirement, he enjoyed racing, motorcycles, auction hopping, walking twice daily, riding his bicycle for hundred of miles every year and spending as much time with family as possible. Wayne was very frugal and saved what he could to ensure his family had all they needed. He always had a story to tell and was sure to “teach his grandchildren a lesson” through multiple different scenarios on how he lost his ring finger. Wayne will be missed dearly by everyone who knew and loved him.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 12 noon at New Day Ministries with Bishop Ted Thomas officiating then burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday evening, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.
