Virginia C. Barnhart, 73, of Galion, died Saturday, October 27, 2018 at James Cancer Hospital in Columbus.
Virginia was born in Miami, Florida on June 1, 1945 to the late Wilbur and Mildred (Valentine) Woolum. She married Cecil E. Barnhart on August 5, 1962 and he preceded her in death on November 4, 2002 after 40 wonderful years of marriage.
Virginia spent many years as a homemaker raising her children. Having a talent for interior design, she decorated her home beautifully. After the children were older, Virginia worked in the cafeteria at the Galion City Schools. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #303, Galion. She enjoyed her activities in the Mother’s Club of Galion. Reading is what Virginia loved to do in her pastime. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family tremendously and would do anything for each and every one of them.
She is survived by a daughter, Crista and Kyle Kitchin of Crestline; daughter-in-law, Karen Marks of Mansfield; sister, Linda and Bill Jones of Climax, Ohio; grandchildren, Marissa Kitchin, Macy Kitchin, Mackayla Brady, Hailey Barnhart, Garrett Barnhart; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Brady.
In addition to her beloved husband Cecil, she is preceded in death by a son, Craig Barnhart on April 6, 2017; and brothers, Mark Woolum and Terry Woolum.
A celebration will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Caledonia Cemetery.
