Twila M. Fraizer, 69, of Galion passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

She was born January 8, 1951 in Galion and was the daughter of the late James and Florence (Best) Lauthers. Twila is survived by her husband of 50 years, John R. Fraizer, whom she married on January 31, 1970.

Twila was raised on a dairy farm and graduated from Galion High School in 1969. She worked as an Aide at Galion Hospital for three years, where she made $1.85/hour before becoming a homemaker.

Twila’s passion was everything about the family’s farm. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren, who would be the seventh generation, play together around the farm. Twila was an avid gardener and had a love of animals. As part of being on the farm, she had a passion for apples and would read to improve her knowledge of them. In addition, she planted 14 apple trees in their yard and would gather her apples every year and press them into cider, sometimes yielding over 60 gallons. Twila would then deliver the cider to family, friends and neighbors. She would treat all the sheep, chickens, cows and pigs like they were family. Twila would go so far as to nurture an orphan baby lamb as if it was a newborn child. On a cold winters night it was nothing out of the ordinary for her to have baby lambs in a large box in the kitchen.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Brad (Amanda) Fraizer of Galion, Jamey Fraizer of Galion, Jeff (Ayesha) Fraizer of Bucyrus and Jake (Dawn) Fraizer of Crestline; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Linda (Steve) Fraizer of Galion and Leila Lohr of Lexington and two special pets, her Dexter cows.

A private graveside service will be held for the family in Iberia Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Family Farm.

Twila appreciated the several cards and special visit from the members of the Blooming Grove United Methodist Church and it is her wish that memorial contributions may be made to the Blooming Grove United Methodist Church or the Leukemia Foundation in care of the funeral home.

Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes in Galion is honored to serve the family of Twila Fraizer, and condolences may be made to them at www.SnyderFuneralHomes.com.
