Tom J. Hanno, 69, of Galion passed away surrounded by his family Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at home.

He was born May 19, 1949 in Mansfield and was the son of the late Ralph and Anna Jane (Lloyd) Hanno. Tom is survived by his wife of 40 years, Georgia C. (Starcher) Hanno whom he married on April 29, 1978.

He graduated from Galion High School in 1967 and later received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Ohio University. Tom worked for 21 years as a sales manager at the former Peabody Galion and also worked as sales manager at Craig Smith Auto in Galion.

Tom loved nothing more than dancing with his wife “Peach”. Years ago, he spun records at the former Platium and was known as “Turn Table Tom”. Tom enjoyed a cold beer, good conversation and spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Tara (Tom) Middleton of Galion and Amy (Laven) North of Ontario; six grandchildren Elias, Tenley, Montana and Taysom Middleton, Grace and Cayden North; three sisters Kathy Nicholson, Susie Hanno and Sally (Joe) Powers and close life-long friends Bobby (Jan) Tuscan, Ronnie (Linda) Nelson, Dave (Katie) Reeves and Neil (Donna) Evans.

Private services will be held for the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HomeCare Matters Hospice in care of the funeral home.
