Timmy “Tim” G. Leonhart, 70, of New Washington, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at The Ohio State University Wexner Center in Columbus.

Tim was born on Sept. 25, 1953, in Bucyrus, to the late Milton S. and Joyce (Dolch) Leonhart. He married Cynthia (Sievert) on May 5, 1973 in Bloomville, and she survives in New Washington.

Other survivors include his step-mother, Ruth Leonhart of New Washington, and a son, Trevor G. Leonhart of Cleveland, and a daughter, Carissa (Jamie) Sherk of Bucyrus, and his walking dog, Koda, three grandchildren, Zachary (Riley) Leonhart, Morgan and Landon Sherk, a brother, Terry (Lisa) Leonhart of Chatfield, a step-brother, Michael (Sara) Newman of Florida, 2 step-sisters, Diane (Clyde) Mann of Maine, and Susan (Walter) Phillips of New Washington.

Tim worked as a printer in sales for the Bookmasters in Ashland, retiring in 2019. He was a member of the Bloomville United Church of Christ, a 1971 graduate of Buckeye Central High School, and was on the first football team at Buckeye Central High School. He was a retired EMT for New Washington Volunteer Fire Dept., and also a former Chatfield Volunteer fireman. He was an avid walker and some days walking ten miles. He was also an avid Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeye fan. He enjoyed attending all his grandchildren activities.

A memorial service for Tim will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday December 27, 2023, at the Bloomville United Church of Christ in Bloomville with Pastor Tom Kagy officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, from 4-7:00 p.m., at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR. 19 Bloomville. The family would like to encourage family and friends to wear their Cleveland Indians, and Buckeye attire for services and visitation. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery in Bloomville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chatfield Volunteer Fire Dept., or to the Crawford County Humane Society. On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.shookfamilyfh.com.
