Steven T. LaRue, 69, of Mansfield and former Galion native passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at home. He had been in declining health.

He was born November 26, 1951, in Galion and was the son of Riley O. and Luella Mae (Sulser) LaRue.

Steven attended Northmor High School and Pioneer Joint Vocational School graduating in 1970. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines Corps. Steven lived in Pataskala and worked for many years as a mechanic for Coaxial Communications of Columbus.

He had a caring nature and had a love of music, playing the guitar, piano, and keyboard.

Steven is survived by his mom, Luella LaRue of Galion; daughter, Stephanie Ann (Jason) Mathis of Florida; granddaughter, Elliana Mathis; sisters, Nancy (Ronald) Schiefer of Iberia and Marilyn Wert of Lexington; brothers, Mark (Rhonda) LaRue of Galion and Darin (Tayna) LaRue of rural Galion and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Riley O. LaRue.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021, in Iberia Cemetery with Don Wake officiating.

Military honors will be conducted by the United States Marine Corps.
