Steven James Stuckman, 75, of Bucyrus passed away at his home on April 22, 2023 after a brief battle with leukemia.
Steve was born on July 1, 1947 in Tiffin to the late Raymond Stuckman and Jeanne (Seele) Stuckman. He is survived by two sons, Scott (Mengling) and their daughter Monica of Bethel Park, PA: Mark (Cristy) and their children Sam and Sydney of Upper Sandusky; adopted daughter Jackie (Amy) of Bucyrus; brothers Jeff of Lakeland, FL and Brad (Nancy) of Bucyrus and their children Nick, Matt, and Kelly (Todd) and their children Braxton and Blain.
Steve was a 1965 graduate of Wynford High School, and a 1969 graduate of The Ohio State University. Although a lifelong Marine, his service in the Corp was cut short due to a medical honorable discharge. Mr. Stuckman went on to teach science at Galion Middle School for 32 years before retirement.
Steve also retired from the Holmes Township Volunteer Fire Department after serving many years. He was a member of the Bucyrus United Methodist Church. He appreciated doing volunteer work with the church, including friendly bantering with the church secretaries. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on in sporting events and life in general. He particularly enjoyed weekly meals with them while they attended school at his alma mater The Ohio State University.
At Steve’s request, there will be a memorial service open to all at Bucyrus United Methodist Church on May 20, 2023 with visitation from 2pm-4pm, followed by a celebration of life service.
Memorial donations may be made directly to Holmes Township Volunteer Fire Department or the Bucyrus United Methodist Church.
