Sherry Thompson had a heart of gold and was the most loving, caring, and helpful person anyone knew.
Sherry Janae Thompson, 56, of Galion and former Andover, Ohio resident passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, after a recent illness.
She was born June 9, 1965, in Galion and was the daughter of Raymond and Francine (Killdow) Morris. Sherry is survived by her husband of 37 years, Ernest Thompson.
She graduated from Pymatuning Valley High School and was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, attending the Bucyrus, Galion, and Blooming Grove churches. Sherry previously worked at the former Baja Boats in Bucyrus and had worked for the past 10 years at the Goodwill Store in Galion. She absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren and would take them shopping, spoiling them. Sherry enjoyed bargain shopping, the change of seasons, especially fall and Christmas, and loved plants and flowers, especially roses.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Michael Morris of Galion, Josh Thompson of Galion, Rachel (Matt Lanzara) Thompson of Andover, Ernest Thompson of Galion, Ashley (Ryan Minick) Thompson of Galion, Amanda (Brandon) Thompson of Mansfield and Cassandra Thompson; 11 grandchildren; father and step-mother, Raymond (Irene) Morris of Galion; companion, James Plaster of Galion; two brothers, Raymond Morris, Jr. and Rodney Morris and three sisters, Sara Register, Rita Kalb and Leona Tanner.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Francine Morris; infant son, Patrick, and a grandson, Carter Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 22 with Pastor Marcellus de Oliveira officiating.
