Ryan A. Sheriff, 45, of Galion, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Avita Health System, Galion Community Hospital.

Ryan was born to the late James and Fay (Perryman) Sheriff, on May 4, 1976, in Galion, Ohio.

Ryan is survived by his daughter Allison Sheriff, of Galion and his best friend and faithful K-9, Hondo.

Ryan took his work very seriously and was passionate about helping his community. He enjoyed dirt track racing and you would find him cheering on his favorite football team, The Dallas Cowboys.  Always the one to lighten the mood with his unique sense of humor.

He was a full-time Dispatcher and Auxiliary Police Officer for the Crestline Police Department and a current Reserve Officer for the Galion Police Department. He was a former Dispatcher for the Galion Police Department and former Deputy for the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department. Ryan also owned/operated the Walnut Street Auto Repair and Tire in Galion.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Golden Age Center, 143 West Bucyrus St., Crestline, OH  44827.  A private burial service will be held at the Greenlawn Union Cemetery in Perrysville, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to be made to Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Crestline to assist with funeral costs.
