Russell Carriger, 65, of Galion passed away Friday, May 30, 2021.

He was born February 11, 1956, in Archer City, Texas, and was the son of E.L. “Tex” and Cynthia (Coffelt) Carriger. Russell recently married Cynthia (Sage) Engler-Carriger.

He was a cabinet maker for many years and had previously worked for Gledhill Lumber in Galion. Russell liked Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and riding his Harley. He loved watching football and golf on television and enjoyed woodworking and fishing in his spare time.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Cynthia Carriger of Galion; daughter, Brandi (John) Maynard of Galion; son, Shane Piatt of Galion; five grandchildren, Nautica Maynard, Alex Piatt, Kristen Piatt, Gregg Piatt, and Hanah Piatt; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Piatt and Raliegh Piatt; sisters, Paula (Joe) Lott of Oklahoma and Ivy Carriger of Texas; brothers, Joseph Carriger of Galion and Steven Carriger of Texas and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Carriger.

There will be a celebration of life from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833.
