Royal Bernard Tinch, 84, of Galion passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Galion Pointe JAG Healthcare.

Royal was born in Jamestown, Tennessee on June 15, 1938, to the late Etha Lee Tinch and Edith Marie (Turner) Tinch. He married Judy Sherman on November 9, 1959, and she survives him.

Royal worked as a conductor and in shipping for Norfolk Southern Conrail for 32 years. He enjoyed getting up every morning and being able to do what he loved which was working on the railroad. Royal was always tinkering around with cars. In his spare time, you would often find him working out trying to stay as fit as possible. Royals greatest pride and joy was his family and spending time with them is what he cherished the most.

In addition to his wife Judy; Royal is survived by his daughter, Sandy (Wayne) Hough of Galion; sons, Stephen (Nan) Tinch, Jeffrey Tinch, both of Cincinnati, and Scott (Janice) Tinch of Newark; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Gale (Cheryl) Tinch of Mansfield; sister, Linda (Dan) Williams of Lexington.

Royal was preceded in death by his parents, Etha and Edith Tinch; daughter, Sherri Winch; grandson, Christopher Tinch and three brothers, Bob Tinch, Joe Tinch, and Wendell Tinch.

Celebration of life will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion, Ohio.
