Rosemary E. Bartholomew, 92, of Galion passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Magnolia Terrace in Galion.

Born March 23, 1926 in Galion, she was the daughter of Josiah F. and R. Edna (Neumann) Seif. She married John W. Bartholomew on September 29, 1946 and he preceded her on July 6, 2001.

She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1944 and a member of First Lutheran Church in Galion. Rosemary was a volunteer for the former Crawford County Hospice, Crawford County Cancer Society, former member of the Galion Golden Age Club and American Legion 243 Auxiliary. She along with husband John volunteered with the Park Rangers in the Florida Everglades for many years. Rosemary enjoyed being outdoors, camping, spending time with family, quilting and was a foster parent for 55 children.

She is survived by children J. Edward (Paula) Bartholomew of North Canton, Tim (Ellen) Bartholomew of Galion and Pete (Becky) Bartholomew of Mansfield; brother Frederic “Fritz” Seif of Sulphur Springs; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and daughter-in-law Sheri Bartholomew of Virginia.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by son Josiah Bartholomew; brothers Leo Seif and Herbert Seif and sisters Marquerite Seif, Clara Eichhorn and Rhoda Hammond-Babcook.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. Additional calling hours will be held at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at First Lutheran Church, 127 South Columbus Street, Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ann Pairan officiating. Burial will follow at Iberia Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church or Lowe Volk Park in care of the funeral home.
