Rose Ann (McClarren) Shaw passed into her Lord’s care on March 25, 2023 after a yearlong stay at Galion Pointe. Rose Ann was determined, independent and lived a full life well into old age passing shortly after her 89th birthday.
She was born on February 14, 1934, in Galion, Ohio and was the daughter of James Donald and Miriam Almeda (Reece) McClarren. Her parents, and her twin brothers Donald and Ronald McClarren preceded her in death.
Rose Ann graduated from Iberia High School, followed by completing a medical secretary course at Elkhart Business University in Elkhart, Indiana. She held a variety of secretarial jobs over the years, and retired after 20 years from the City of Galion Utility Department.
From a young age, Rose Ann knew that Jesus loved her, often saying that the words of that childhood song gave her comfort in good times and bad. Over the years she attended the Iberia Presbyterian Church and both the Galion and Crestline Churches of the Nazarene.
Known in Galion and surrounding areas as a collector of antique furniture and beautiful lamps, Rose Ann also loved Galion memorabilia—from matchbooks and yard sticks to crockery and bottles.
Rosie is survived by daughters Carole (Loren) Wagner of Fredericktown and Brenda (John) Ballmer of Findlay, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Many thanks to Hospice and the staff of Galion Pointe for their kind, patient care. Memorial contributions can be made to the Iberia Presbyterian Church, PO Box 177, Iberia, Ohio 43325.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes in Galion is honored to serve the family of Rose Shaw, and condolences may be made to them at www.SnyderFuneralHomes.com.
