Ronald L. Spiegel, age 68, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024 in the emergency room of Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.
Ron was born on October 20, 1955, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Robert R. and Ruby June (Barth) Spiegel, both of whom are deceased. He married Rhonda Shope on November 29, 1986 and she survives in Nevada.
He is also survived by his children: Tosha (Alex) Winter of Nevada, and Jason (Lauren Lahman) Shope of Bucyrus, along with his grandchildren, Serenity Shope, Sully Shope, and Samantha (Andrew) Dyer.
Ron is also survived by his brothers, his twin, Don (Patty) Spiegel of Upper Sandusky, and Terry (Linda) Spiegel of Bucyrus, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Barb Spiegel, and a brother Curt.
Ron retired from Herring Farms in Harpster, and before that he had worked for Crow Motors in Upper Sandusky, and Miller Lawn Service in Bucyrus.
He was veteran of the U.S. Navy having served for 9 years during the Vietnam War.
Ron was an animal lover, and enjoyed fishing and boating. He loved an old fashion murder mysteries of any kind, playing cribbage, and following the Cleveland Indians. He enjoyed working with his hands, and had a gift for working on clocks, especially grandfather clocks.
His greatest joy was his family, and he loved spending as much time with them as he could.
Ron was cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life Service at a later date.
