Ronald Joe Stafford, Sr., 85, of Galion and former Westland, Michigan resident passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021, at home.
He was born June 6, 1936, in Linton, Indiana, and was the son of the late Wendell and Ruby (Johnson) Stafford. Joe married Reba (Randolph) Stafford on July 20, 1955, and she preceded him in death after 64 years of marriage on August 27, 2019.
He retired in 1989 after 30 years as a psychiatric nurse for the State of Michigan at the Northville Regional Psychiatric Hospital.
Joe is survived by a son, Joe (Val) Stafford, Jr.; granddaughter, Katie (Josh) Rogge; great-granddaughter, Ruby Rogge all of Galion; brother, Frederick (Judy) Stafford of Interlochen, Michigan; sister, Gail Stafford of Westland, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Glenwood Cemetery, 33510 Glenwood Street, Wayne, Michigan 48184. A service celebrating his life will be held as part of the normal worship service at Wesley Chapel, 240 South Market St. Galion, Ohio on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at 10:45 a.m.
