Ronald C. Bishop, 81, lifelong resident of New Washington, Ohio passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on March 9, 1939 to the late Clemence B. and Frances (Hoehn) Bishop.

Ron was a 1957 graduate of New Washington High School. He went on to work for Mansfield Brass before entering the Army Reserves. After his service, he worked various jobs before joining the staff of Weithman and Bros as a mason and bricklayer. Ron was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church where he was involved in the cemetery committee as well as the Knights of Columbus.

A loyal Indians fan, he also enjoyed golfing, fishing, bird watching and playing Euchre. His family was most important to him and he loved attending all of his grandchildren’s events.

He will be forever missed by his wife, Betty (Hiler) Bishop whom he married on June 23, 1962; children, Deb (Andy) Thurner, Mark (Kim) Bishop, the late Brett Bishop, and April (Paul) Barker; grandchildren, Amanda (Steven) Meadows, Morgan (Mark) Meadows-Reed, Carter Bishop and Grant (Emily) Bishop; great grandchild, Emmy Meadows; siblings, Larry (Velma) Bishop, Doris Arnold, and Shirley (Leroy) Burkin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gene (Teresa) Hiler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and son, Ron was preceded in death by his sisters, Alice (Clem) Decker and Janice (Tom) Krupp, and brother-in-law Dudley Arnold.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington at 11:30 a.m. with Father George W. Mahas officiating.
