Ronald A. Hocker, Crestline, died Wednesday, April 12, 2023 after a brief illness.
Born in Crestline on December I, 1944, he was the son of the late Paul and Dorothy (Gerstenslager) Hocker. He was married most of his life to Sharon Leach, and she survives. Also surviving are sons Douglas Hocker of Mount Vernon, Steve Hocker of Crestline, and Marcus Hocker of Galion, grandchildren Harmonie Hocker and Rayna Clayton of Galion, sisters Jane Graven of Millersburg, Linda McElroy of Springfield, Missouri, and brother Michael Hocker of Galion, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron grew up at Lake Galion and graduated from Colonel Crawford High School in 1962.
He served in the Army during the Viet Nam era and after an honorable discharge got an associates degree in business from Ohio State University. He worked at Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Crestline, City Loan in Millersburg and ran a landscaping business for 30 years.
Ron enjoyed being outdoors, going to auctions with his son Steve, and fishing. He had a passion for John Deere tractors and you could find him out fine-tuning a motor or the paint on one.
