Ron C. Zeger, 70, of Galion passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, November 17, 2017.

He was born May 12, 1947 in Galion and was the son of Chester E. and Lovina (Champion) Zeger. Ron is survived by his wife of 30 years, Vickie (Carpenter) Zeger whom he married on December 17, 1986.

He attended Galion High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Ron worked at the former North Electric, Perfection and Westinghouse. He retired as a die-maker in 2006 from General Motors in Ontario. Ron was a lifetime member of the AMVETS Polk Township Post 1979 of Galion. He was a true “handyman” as he could fix just about anything. Ron enjoyed working on cars, spending time in his garden and loved being a grandpa. He gave a special gift of tissue donation.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Ronda Zeger of Galion; son Ronald Darin (Carrie) Zeger of Galion; step-son Dale Powell Jr. of Galion; eight grandchildren Tylor, Brianna, Brittany, Ethan, Skyler, Mia, Krystal and Katlin; six great-grandchildren; sisters Carolyn Smith of Marion, Diana (Roger) Lands of Mansfield, Christine of Virginia and Debbie (Dave) Tittle of Florida and brother Michael “Mick” (Carolyn Baker) Zeger of Galion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Shirley.

A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the VFW Post 4329, 229 South Market Street Galion, Ohio 44833 with full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail at 1:00 p.m.
