Roger Lee Laughbaum, age 85, of Galion passed away Saturday December 7, 2024 at Mill Creek Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born September 22, 1939 in Galion, he was the son of the late Stanley and Betty (Woods) Laughbaum. He married Margaret “Peg” Schnelker on February 4, 1961 and she preceded him in death on September 5, 1974.

He was a 1958 graduate of Galion High School. He was very proud of being a member of the 1958 undefeated N.O.L. Galion Tiger football team. He coached Little League baseball for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping as well as tinkering around the house. Roger enjoyed studying WWII and had a great appreciation for aviation.

Roger raised his six children after the death of Margaret with the help of family, friends and the ladies of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He is survived by his six children: Barbara (Randy Harold) Laughbaum, Michael (Beth) Laughbaum, LeAnn Laughbaum, Jennifer (Patrick Conry) Laughbaum, Steven “Andy” Laughbaum and Nancy (Michael) Pugh, twelve grandchildren: Katie Brigman, Weston Brigman, Erik Laughbaum, Ashley Kirby, Kerri Hutchison, Jacob Baber, Josh Britt, Erica Linas, Kyle Mock, Stephen Laughbaum, Abbie Pugh and Tanner Pugh, four great grandchildren: Owen Linas, Ethan Linas, Levi Laughbaum and Mina Kirby, sister Diana (Mel) Hershey, sister-in-law Beth Laughbaum and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother James Laughbaum, and sisters Kay Laughbaum and Patricia Rhodes and his brother-in-law Bob Rhodes.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday December 12, 2024 and 10:00 – 11:00 AM Friday at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday December 13, 2024. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Galion.
