Roger Dyer, age 68, of Lykens (or Bloomville), Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Monday, May 10, 2021, at Heartland of Bucyrus.

Roger was born on July 14, 1952, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Robert J. and Leora M. (Jordan) Dyer, both of whom are deceased. He married Beverly “Bev” Schenk on July 13, 1985, and she survives.

He is also survived by his 2 children: Lindsay Rittenhour of Fostoria and Jesse Wayne Dyer of Upper Sandusky, along with his grandchildren, Levi, Iris, and Callen.

Roger is also survived by a brother James “Woody” (Darlene) Dyer of Bucyrus, and sisters, Freda Harvey Eldridge of Nevada, Beverly (Ronald) Kincade of Tiffin, Sharon (Steve) Frisch of Bucyrus, Jennifer Beck of Nevada, Penny Barney of Benton, Breda Dyer of Nevada, and many nieces, nephews and many great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Helen, Opal, and June, along with brothers, Wendell and Joseph.

Roger worked for Mills Metal Compartment Company in Upper Sandusky and Marion, retiring in 2019 after 25 years.

First and foremost, Roger dedicated his life to his friends and family. He was always willing to help friends with anything at the drop of the hat and was done with a gracious smile on his face.

Roger loved spending his free time riding on his Harley, fishing, camping at Lake Erie, hunting, target shooting, joining friends around a campfire, cutting wood, and landscaping his yard.

He was known for his infectious laugh and big bear hugs, he was loved by many and respected as the genuine person he was.

Funeral services for Roger Dyer will be private with Rev. Carl Angel officiating.
Burial will take place at Nevada Cemetery
