Robert S. “Bob” Wilfing, 81, of Galion and former resident of Salineville, Ohio passed away Monday, June 22, 2020 at home.
He was born April 14, 1939 in East Liverpool, Ohio and was the son William F. “Frank” and Leola R. (Elverd) Wilfing. Bob is survived by his wife of 25 years, Joan Margaret (Johnson) Kindler-Wilfing whom he married on June 2, 1995
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and worked for many years at Homer Laughlin as a Kilt Placer. Bob was a member of the Ark Church in Galion and his highest priority in his life was spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Jeffrey L. (Jacqueline L.) Kindler, Timothy Edwin (Carol D.) Kindler; daughter Melinda M. (Douglas) Walter; grandchildren Jeremy Kindler, Nicholas (Danyele) Kindler, Becky (Jay) Webers, Amber (Pete) Laney, Anthony (Virginia Long) Kindler, Abendigo (Tiffany) Kindler, Azariah (Mackenzie) Kindler, Isaac (Amy Altvater) Walter and Jessica (Ali Shadchehr) Walter; 13 great-grandchildren Devon, Dominick, Danica, Dakota, Johanna, Declan, Ayden and Ashton Kindler, Michelle Skaggs, Micah Cross, Jonah and Jace Walter and Jacob Altvater; sister-in-law Patricia Wilfing and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Michael Kindler; three brothers, Melvin, Charles and William Wilfing and a nephew Billy Wilfing
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Ark Church, 200 Gelsanliter Road Galion, Ohio with Pastor Jeff Shaull officiating.
Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
