Robert “Rob” Jones Jr., 57, of Bucyrus, died unexpectedly Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Cleveland Clinic – Medina Hospital.
He was born July 26, 1966 in Columbus, Ohio, to Robert Jones Sr. and Eva (Hofke) Clarke. On June 25, 2022, he married Milagros Santander, and she survives in Bucyrus.
Family was very important to Rob, and he would always take time to help others. He possessed a very kind and giving heart. Rob’s smile would always light up a room when he entered.
He was employed as a mechanic and enjoyed all aspects of cars, whether it was driving, working on them, attending street rod races in Sandusky and other towns, and attending car shows. Pontiacs were his favorite. He had a 1972 Pontiac LeMans that he was restoring and was very proud of his work.
Rob enjoyed rock and roll music especially the groups Metallica and Motley Crue.
Surviving Rob are two children, Robert Michael Jones and Kayelee (Brandon) Book; stepchildren, Daniela Cardozo Santander and Daniel Cardozo Santander; brother, James (Lori) Jones; grandchildren; and his two beloved labs. He will be missed by his many close friends.
Rob was preceded in death by his father and his stepdad, John Clarke.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Rob on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 pm at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, OH 44820.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be payable to a charity of the donor’s choice given through the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on Rob’s guestbook.
