On November 13th, 2024, Robert Pfaff passed away at Carlisle Place, which had been home for him since his wife’s passing.

Bob was born on October 23rd, 1937, to Bernard and Mildred (Bell) Pfaff in Wooster, OH. Growing up the family enjoyed horseback riding, and a love for horses continued throughout his life.

Bob graduated from Wooster Highschool and attended the Ohio State University for a time.  After returning to Wooster, he served in the Army Reserve and spent a period of time as a Plumber and working for Smucker’s as Salesman.

Bob met Phyllis Furniss at a square dance, and they were married on September 25th, 1960, and their union lasted until her death on November 12th, 2020.

Bob and Phyliss moved to Bucyrus in the mid 1970’s to own and operate the McDonald’s restaurants in Bucyrus and Galion.  They went on to build and operate Taco Bell restaurants in Wooster and Mt. Vernon.  Bob finished his professional life owning and operating Suburban and Gala Lanes.  During his various business ventures, Bob instilled a strong work ethic in both his family and his employees, many of whom have mentioned this over the years.  Bob raised Standard Bred Horses and raced at Northfield Park and throughout the Ohio fair circuit.  Bob and Phyliss enjoyed many years of Bridge Club in both Wooster and Bucyrus, and a group of friends continued to visit for cards at Carlisle Place. They also enjoyed many years of hitting the links.  The couple worshipped at Bucyrus Nazarene Church.

Along with his Wife and Parents, Bob was preceded in death by Brother James Pfaff.

Bob is survived by Daughters Cindy (Jeff) Karns, Tammy (Jeff) Roe; grandchildren Morgan (Joel Butt) Swavel; Gage (Kayle) Roe; Marissa Swavel.  Great grandchildren Lilly, Trenton, Laramie, Bentley.

The family would like to thank Carlisle Place for their years of compassionate care as well as Avita Hospice.

Decades ago, Bob had chosen to bequeath his body to The Ohio State University for science, per his wishes there will be a private memorial service.

Memorial donations are encouraged to be made to the Bucyrus Nazarene Church or Avita Hospice in his remembrance.
