Robert Eugene Deffendoll, 79 of Galion passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 at home.
He was born June 5, 1943 in Galion and was the son of Clarence and Mildred E. (Brockelsby) Deffendoll. Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeraldine K. (Morrison) Deffendoll whom he married on August 21, 1971.
He graduated from Ontario High School in 1961. Bob worked as a welder at Perfection-Cobey until their closing. He later went to Komatsu, Peabody, T.C. Johnson, Clines and finished his working career as a security guard. Bob was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Galion Aerie 630, VFW Post 4329 of Galion, American Legion Post 243 of Galion and Trackside of Galion.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Randy L. Deffendoll of Marion and Rodney E. Deffendoll of Galion; step-daughter, Vonda M. Metheney of Galion; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert James Deffendoll and three sisters, Mildred Joan Smorick, Marilyn Jean Pittenger and Diana Lynn Borders.
It was Bob’s request to have no service and to be cremated. His final resting place will be Violet Cemetery in Pickerington, Ohio with a graveside service at a later date.
