Richard “Dick” Eugene Rinehart, 78, of Galion, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 after living a good life.
Richard was born in Galion on August 24, 1939 to the late Cleon Rinehart, Mary Alice (Jones) Rinehart Downs and step-father Charles Downs. He married Patricia Fay Campo on August 31, 1957.
Richard worked at PPG for 41 years, retiring in 2001. He also coached Little League. He loved fishing and camping at Lake Erie and vacationing at Daytona Beach.
Left to cherish his memory is Pat, his wife of sixty years, his three sons, Rick and Becky Rinehart of Bellville, Randy and Joyce Rinehart of Lexington, Rob and Laurie Rinehart of Galion, his daughter, Rhonda and Oscar Casteel of Galion; seventeen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, his brother, William and Barb Rinehart, and his sisters, Phyllis and Chuck Shultz, Carol Appleman, Linda and Rex Crawford, and Pat Ballard, sister-in-law, Isabell Shoup and brother-in-law, Dale and Julie Knowlton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two daughters Rebecca and Deanna Lynn, his sister, Shirley Knowlton, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Isabell Campo, brother-in-law, Donald Appleman and brother-in-law, Chester Shoup.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Hospital in care of the funeral home.
