Richard A. McCallister, 62, of Galion passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at home unexpectedly.
Born August 24, 1955 in Galion, he was the son of Richard A. McCallister and Ellen L. (McClurg) Stroup.
Richard served his country in the United States Army and then worked at the Family Dollar Warehouse in Columbus for many years and then did odd jobs for people.
He is survived by two sisters, Sherry (Johnny) Thomas and Deanna Eicher both of Galion; four nieces and nephews, Shalea Penrod, Sarah Otten, Taustin Greanya and Colten Skaggs and several great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a sister Christine McCallister and a brother, Jeff McDonnell.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery, Galion, 1295 Fairview Road, Galion, Ohio 44833 with full military honors conducted by the United States Army and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
