Richard “Dick” Eugene Lautzenhiser, 78, of Galion passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Signature HealthCARE of Galion.

Dick was born June 5, 1943 in Tiffin, Ohio to Kenneth and Velma (Snay) Lautzenhiser. On October 14, 1961, Richard married Gloria Jean Snavely from Republic, Ohio.

Dick graduated from Tiffin Colombian High School in 1961 where he went on to further his education at Ohio University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Dick worked for Mansfield radio station, Mix 106.1 WVNO for 32 years where he sold advertisements and worked several charitable events.

Dick was a member of the Galion Elks along with the Galion Moose Lodge 303 where he was the President for Special Wish and was the chairman for Galion Octoberfest.

Dick played the drum in high school and continued his drumming with a dance band on the weekends. He loved working in his yard with his flowers and his pool. Dick and his wife would take several trips to Lake Erie, and enjoyed traveling. He was very friendly and loved talking to people. Dick was loved by many and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish Dick’s memories is his wife Gloria, his two daughters, Laurie (George) Davis of St. Louis Missouri and Lisa (Shawn) Smith of Galion, Ohio; his sister Carol (Jim) Hepp of Marblehead Ohio; his eight grandchildren, Nicole (Billy) Meyers, Brittney Davis, Katie Lautzenhiser, Brandon Davis, Matthew Morasco, Sara Lautzenhiser, Hunter Smith, and Gavin Smith and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his son Rick Lautzenhiser.

A private service will be held for the family.
