Rich L. Herrmann, 74, of Galion passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at home.
He was born November 27, 1946, in Crestline and was the son of Bernard and Helen (Mayer) Herrmann. Rich is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judith “Judi” (Foti) Herrmann whom he married on December 9, 1965.
Rich graduated from Crestline High School in 1964 and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a supervisor at the former Carlisle Plastics, Abbot Industries, Millington Manufacturing, and Arundale. Rich retired from St. Joseph Catholic School where he worked as a custodian.
Rich was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Cleveland Indians and St. Louis Cardinals. Rich previously golfed and bowled. He enjoyed photography, providing many pictures to the Galion Inquirer, St. Joseph Catholic Church and Galion High School. Rich also did many senior and wedding pictures. He was an avid dog lover, with his miniature dachshunds, Tootsie and Roxxie.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Connie (Paul) Cassady of Lodi; son, Richard A. Herrmann of Galion; two grandchildren, Justin (Alisha) Cassady of Akron and Angela Cassady of Lodi and a brother, Ted (Carolyn) Herrmann of Oklahoma.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joy Bryant.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2021 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. Vigil service will be at 6:30 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 135 North Liberty St. Galion, Ohio with Father Paul Fahrbach as celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
