Rev Victor Lee Reffey entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 15, 2023. Vic was born in Sulphur Springs, Ohio on July 13, 1939. He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School with the class of 1957. After serving his country in the army for 2 years, he married his sweetheart, Barbara Clary, on August 14, 1960.

For almost the next 10 years, Vic worked at Timkin Roller Bearing in Bucyrus, Ohio. Then in 1969 he gave his life to Jesus and his long journey of faith began. He began attending Fort Wayne Bible College in 1970, graduating in 1973. God used him to touch many lives as he ministered at Flat Rock Children’s Home in Ohio, Union Chapel Missionary Church, Lima, OH, as a missionary in Sierra Leone, West Africa, Potsdam Missionary Church, OH, Camp Lakeview in Michigan, Pleasant View Missionary Church, Greenville, OH, the Keystone Project, South Dakota, and Grace Missionary Church, Celina, OH.  He officially retired from the pastorate in 2010, but never stopped serving his Lord in his local church and small groups. Vic’s joy was to share about the love of Jesus Christ with everyone he met here and abroad.

Vic will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Barbara; children Lyle (Becky), Lee (Stephanie), Alan (Stephanie), Beth (Eric); grandchildren Michael (Melodie), Daniel, Laura (Sam), Zac (Tanya), Nate (Elizabeth), Josh, Luke (Brook), Ryan (Caitlin), Jason, Rachel, Luke, Kyle; great-grandchildren Donovan, Ellie, Emery, Paislee, Malcolm, Finnegan, Peyton; brother Charles (Virginia); sister Sue (Tom) Shawk; brother-in-law Thomas (Maura) Clary. He is preceded in death by his parents James (Estella), his brother Kenneth (Margaret) and brother-in-law Rod Clary.

On Friday, January 26, from 12:30-2:00 there will be a short time to greet the family at Gospel Baptist Church, 5670 OH St. Rt. 19, Galion, OH. Interment will follow at 2:30 at Union Cemetery, 5004-5016 OH St. Rt. 602, Bucyrus, OH.

On Saturday, January 27 a visitation will be held from 10:00am-1:00pm at Emmanuel Church-Banta Campus, 6602 S. Harding St., Indianapolis, IN. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:00 at this same location, followed by a light meal for out-of-town guests. Childcare is provided during this service for children under 3 years of age.

Hotel accommodations are recommended in the Greenwood area.
