Raymond C. Horner Jr., 70 of Bucyrus passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Marion General Hospital. Ray was born March 21, 1951, in Greenup, KY to the late Raymond Horner Sr. and Faye (Collins) Horner who survives in Sulphur Springs. He was married September 3, 1977, to Janette (Hines) Horner who preceded him in death on November 28, 1997. He was also preceded in death by sister Penny Trummel and brother Jacob Horner.
In addition to his mother, Ray is survived by children Raymond (Selina Slagle) Horner III, Hannah (Shannon Patterson) Patterson, and Brittany (Michael Ginn) Horner, Baileigh Lauthers, and Jason Santsaver; grandchildren Bayge and Brailey Horner, Taylor, Samantha, and William Patterson, Kalila Ginn, and Leland Lauthers Goin; brothers Anthony and James Horner; sisters Bernice Johnson, Sandy Ulmer, Randi Campbell, and Jackie Horner; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Raymond lived most of his life in Bucyrus and last worked at Lulu’s Kitchen. He enjoyed cooking, watching sports, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes, spending time with his family, going to church where he was a member, Victory in Truth Ministries, and supporting Jimmy Swaggert.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Bishop J.C. Church officiating, and burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Memorials may be made through the funeral home.
