Ralph H. “Bud” McCarthy, 68 of Bucyrus passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Mansfield Hospital following a brief illness. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Bud was born January 26, 1953, in New Washington, OH to the late Ralph and Helen (Pine) McCarthy. He was married July 12, 1980, to Teresa (Riedlinger) McCarthy who survives.
Bud is also survived by sons Joshua (Monica) McCarthy, Bradley McCarthy, and Trevor McCarthy; grandchildren Cheyenne, Noah, and Owen; brothers Calvin of Alabama, Mike of Oregon, and Larry (Glady) McCarthy of Willard, OH; sisters Peggy Upton of Dayton and Linda Long of Wyoming; sister-in-laws Carol (Jim) Lanker and Donna Massey both of Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bud graduated from Buckeye Central High School in 1971 and lived his entire life in the New Washington and Bucyrus areas. He was retired from Bucyrus Blade. Bud was very active in the Bucyrus Moose Lodge #669 since 1982. He held all of the offices in the Moose and had a Pilgrim Degree as well as serving many years on the Ritual detail for funerals. Bud enjoyed his children and grandchildren’s sporting events as well as fishing and camping. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren at the camper.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 2:00 pm in the Bucyrus Moose Lodge, and the family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon. The family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Humane Society through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.
