Ralph E. “Gene” Parcell, 78, of Galion passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Signature HealthCARE of Galion.
He was born March 20, 1940 in Nevada, Ohio and was the son of Carl O. S. and Marveline P. (Caylor) Parcell.
Gene worked all of his life and held many jobs such as working for 30 years at the former PECO in Galion as an assembler and wireman; various jobs for area farmers; worked in the Body Shop at the former Ford Dealership in Bucyrus; Crestline Paints; maintenance man at the Bucyrus Plaza and Walmart in Marion.
Gene was a former Boy Scout Leader in Bucyrus and was an avid NASCAR fan with Dale Earnhardt as his driver.
Gene is survived by a sister Marjorie M. Riddlebaugh of Galion; step-daughter Rita Ekkels and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Hallie Woodward and brother-in-law, Harry “Butch” Riddlebaugh.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2019 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at Monday, February 25 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ronald Parsons officiating. Burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Free Will Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
