Pauline F. Shifley, 91, of Galion passed into his Lord’s presence, Tuesday, March 1, 2022 peacefully at Galion Pointe.
She was born April 12, 1930 in Galion and was the daughter of Paul and Phelma (Welker) Phillips. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Donald Shifley whom she married on April 19, 1953.
Pauline graduated from Galion High School in 1948. She was a member of Windfall Emanuel United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school for many years and loved to sing in the choir. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed canning from the garden and traveling to Amish country.
She is survived by sons, Thomas L. (Gloria) Shifley, Jim L. (Cathy) Shifley all of Galion and Rev. Ron L. (Deanna) Shifley of Needville, Texas; six grandchildren, Wendi (Jason) Zwaduk, Brian Shifley, Jaci (James) Hefner, Erica (Steve) Cotton, Christopher L. (Krissy) Christman, and Shelby (Bryan) Dillon; 11 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Jonathan Murray of Missouri; two cousins Debbie Welker of Shelby and Lee (Peggy) Welker of Plymouth and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Esther Murray.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday March 6, 2022 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday March 7 at Windfall Emanuel United Church of Christ, 1781 Biddle Road Galion, Ohio 44833 with Pastors Loyd and Dreama Caudill and her son, Ron Shifley officiating. Burial will be in Windfall Cemetery, Galion.
