Patsy Jean Mitchell, 86, of Galion, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at her home in Magnolia Terrace, Galion, after a lengthy illness.
Patsy was born in Galion, on April 17, 1932 to the late Lloyd W. and Betty M. (Sherman) Gerhart. She married Donald E. Mitchell on August 27, 1951 and he survives her.
Patsy graduated from Galion High School in the Class of 1950. She was a wonderful wife and homemaker, enjoying canning, cooking and baking. Patsy and her husband Don went square dancing whenever they could. They both enjoyed their membership in the Model A Club. She enjoyed traveling with her brother and sisters, especially to Las Vegas to gamble. She also enjoyed scratching off Bingo Cards and at Magnolia Terrace always joined in their Bingo games. Patsy was a collector of teddy bears and over 150 bells. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Deborah and John Schnabel, Howard, Sharon and Buddy Walters, Galion; her two sons, Tommy and Sharon Mitchell, Crestline, Timothy Mitchell, Crestline; her grandchildren, Aaron Walters (Jessica), Sarah and Michael Maxwell, Joshua and Brittni Walters, Tara Schiefer, Daniel Schiefer, Jessica Mitchell, Brenton and Olivia Mitchell, Chad Branham, Nicole and Shawn McLaren, Curt Mitchell; great-grandchildren; Bryntli Walters, Adelynn Mitchell, Emery Mitchell, Marcus Anthony Mitchell, Lilliana McLaren, Kileigh McLaren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Gerhart, and her two sisters, Jean Fox and Joyce Spore.
Friends may call Monday, October 29, 2018, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Crestline, with Elder Buddy Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.
