Pansy Marie Thacker, 80, passed away on February 4, 2022 at her residence in Galion, Ohio.
Pansy was born in War, West Virginia, on February 25, 1941 to the late Salvatore “Sam” and Maria “Mary” (Sardenell) Garzaniti. She married Daniel Thacker on May 7, 1960. He was the love of her life and she was his, having met when Pansy was 13 years old and Daniel was 15.
Pansy graduated from Big Creek High School in 1959. She joined the J.C.Penney Company as a sales clerk from 1978 to 1993. She was an active member and attendee of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion. Pansy enjoyed many activities such as knitting, reading, dancing and family events. Attending her class reunions was always a joyous time for Pansy, catching up with her classmates and friends, but the dearest time spent was with her children and grandchildren whom she adored.
Pansy is survived by husband, Daniel Thacker; her two sons Samuel Thacker, Galion; Bill (Joan) Thacker, Milan, Michigan; six grandchildren, Dan Thacker, David Thacker, William Thacker IV, Jacob Thacker, Grace Thacker, and Brianna Thacker; three sisters, Carmella Rakes, Leetonia, Ohio, Antonette (Ron) Townsley, Willis, Michigan; and Elizabeth (Mick) Holt, Toledo, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews whom she dearly loved.
In addition to her parents, Pansy was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Thacker II; two sisters: Mary Hardy and Rosie Carmen; three brothers: Nick Garzanit, Dominick Garzanit, and Frank Garzanit.
Friends may call on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion, Ohio, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galion, Ohio with Father Paul Fahrbach officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galion, Ohio.
