Olive “Ann” Kempf, 88, of Galion passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Signature HealthCARE in Galion.

Born April 23, 1935 in Shelby, she was the daughter of Dominic and Olive (Goin) Dorion. Ann married Syvonne V. Kempf on September 12, 1953 and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage until his passing on February 17, 2007.

She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1953 and was a homemaker. Ann was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion. Ann was a wonderful cook and a member of the Neighborhood Garden Club, 20/30 Club and Bridge-O-Rama. She enjoyed playing golf, square dancing and dancing with Syvonne.

Ann is survived by a daughter, Anissa (Steve) Cochran of Mt. Gilead; sons, Daniel (Darlene) Kempf of Springfield, Ohio, Scott Kempf of Davie, Florida and Quentin (Kaye) Kempf of Ontario; daughter-in-law, Jackie Kempf of Galion; 10 grandchildren; Michelle, Jason, Joshua, Dorion, Rowan, Connor, Lance, Nathan, Caleb and Tyler; nine great-grandchildren, two sisters, Marian Krisha of New London, Ohio and Florence Baker of Norwalk and a brother, Michael (Cindy) Dorion of Plymouth.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Morse and Nora Lofland and five brothers, Benjamin Dorion, James Dorion, Francis Dorion, Patrick Dorion and David Dorion.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 3 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 135 North Liberty Street Galion, Ohio with Father Paul Fahrbach as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Galion.

The family would like to thank Signature Health Care for their wonderful care especially all of Ann’s “Punkin Group” along with Gentiva Hospice.
